How to do things on Center Stage Spotlight. Stuck on something not covered here? Ask us on the Support page.

Signing up

Tap “Sign up” and sign in with an email link or Google, then pick a handle. Artists and listeners join through the same door. Signing up creates your own account — never a waitlist. Once set, a handle cannot be changed yet. You must be 13 or older to have an account; if you are under 18, a parent or guardian must consent before you can post or chat.

Your artist page

Everything about your page is edited from Edit Profile: your photo, links, tracks, pins (up to 3), photos, videos, Headliner, and call settings. Your own artist page shows Edit Profile and Dashboard buttons; visitors see Follow, Subscribe, Message, and Report instead.

Customize my profile

Your page can wear a look of your own. From Edit Profile, under Your profile look, tap “Customize my profile”. The editor opens in its own window, with a live preview at the top: every pick shows in the preview right away, but nothing changes on your real page until you tap “Save my look”. Close the window without saving and your changes are thrown away. Your name and photo always stay at the top, and text always stays easy to read, whatever you pick.

Free for everyone: six themes — Spotlight Gold, Ember, Violet Stage, Ocean Night, Rose Poster, and Forest Floor; backgrounds — the site default, The Stage photo, Ember Glow, Midnight Blue, and Purple Velvet; three heading styles — Stage (tall poster letters), Neon sign, and Handwritten; and Your sections, where you tick what shows on your page and use the Up and Down buttons to put it in your order. In a hurry? Start from a template — Classic Spotlight, Ember Stage, Ocean Breeze, or Violet Vinyl sets the whole look in one tap, and you can tweak any piece of it after.

Headliner extras: three more themes — Neon Sign, Silver Screen, and Crimson Velvet; your own accent color for your name, highlights, and borders; your own background photo (an image 5 MB or smaller, under a dark veil so words stay readable); and the Custom CSS box, under “Custom CSS (advanced)”. If you know CSS, you can write your own — it only changes your own page, and it is cleaned and safety-checked when you save.

Uploading a song

From Edit Profile, go to Your tracks and upload an audio file (up to 50 MB) or paste a link to a song hosted elsewhere. You can add or change cover art for each track (up to 5 MB), and covers show on artist pages and on tracks attached to feed posts. Photos go up to 10 MB, videos up to 100 MB.

The feed

When you are signed in, Home is the feed. Post, comment, like, follow, and subscribe from there. Songs and videos attached to a post play right in the feed. Your Dashboard shows your artist stats: followers, subscribers, likes, tracks, photos, videos, posts, comments, and your most-liked track.

Discovering artists

Discover shows real artists who have joined and chosen a handle. Each card shows the artist’s avatar and handle and their top pinned track.

Rooms

Rooms are public and private chat rooms. The Listening Room plays songs live to the whole room; the Lobby is the general hang-out; Feedback Corner is a feed, not live chat; the Collab Board is for finding a singer, a producer, or a cover artist. Find rooms on the Rooms page, laid out like folders — Listen, Learn, Create, and Hang out — that is how you join friends in another room. Every room has an Invite friends button that shares the room’s link.

The Listening Room rotation

The rotation plays artist-uploaded songs only, radio-style: everyone in the room hears the same song together. Any signed-in member can add any artist-uploaded song to the queue, and new adds join live. Tap “Start listening” once, and the music keeps playing as songs change. When you leave a room, its music stops on its own.

Feedback Corner

Artists submit one of their songs for Feedback/Review, and the newest submission sits at the top as NOW FEATURED. Anyone can rate it with stars (1–5) and leave written feedback underneath it. The other rooms stay live chat.

Live Performance Lounge

The Live Performance Lounge is for live music only — no recorded tracks. Sign up to perform and you join the line; the AI host passes the mic in sign-up order and announces you in her voice. When it is your turn, tap “Key up and perform” to go live, and “Step down” when you are done. Everyone else taps “Listen live” to hear you. The room chat stays right underneath the stage.

Reels

Open the Menu and tap Reels for a vertical scroll of short videos, newest first. Videos autoplay muted as you scroll; tap a video to play or pause it, and use the Sound button for audio. Videos are uploaded from Edit Profile.

Messages and calls

The Messages icon opens a full-screen chat overlay with your chats list and threads; the Messages page in the Menu shows the same list with the open thread beside it. Voice dictation is on the mic button in chats and rooms — tap it, speak, and the words land in the message box. Voice-only calls work in one-to-one chats; each person controls who may call them under Edit Profile, in the Calls section: Anyone, Only people I’ve chatted with, or No one.

Headliner and stores

Headliner is the paid tier: $10 a month or $100 a year. It adds your own shop in the Fan Market, premium profile looks, and your own radio station.

Your shop: sell your songs and merch, and keep 100% of your sales — Center Stage takes no cut. You choose how you get paid: connect payouts, or link your own payment page and buyers pay you there.

Premium looks: three more themes — Neon Sign, Silver Screen, and Crimson Velvet — your own accent color, your own background photo, and the Custom CSS box (see “Customize my profile”, above).

Your station: your profile plays your songs like its own radio station. Turn it on in Edit Profile, under Your radio station.

To cancel Headliner or sort out a billing problem, contact us via Support.

Not sure what a shop looks like? Visit the example shop: a demo artist’s shop with a shirt, a mug, and a song download as examples only. Nothing there is for sale.

Tokens and drinks

Tokens are the site’s bar currency. Every new account starts with 50 free tokens. Spend them on a drink for a friend (10 tokens), a round for the whole bar (50), or a bump up the Listening Room rotation (25).

Getting help and reporting a problem

The Support page needs no sign-in to read. It has answers to the common questions, a live chat with the site owner, and a “Send us a message” form — that form is how you submit a ticket. Tell us what you were doing, what you expected, and what you saw instead; that is exactly what helps us fix it.

To report a person or a message, use the Report buttons on artist pages and room messages. Reports go to the site owner. If something on the site looks broken, the Support message form is the right place to report the bug.
